Hang on what the hell is a Schlumpf?!!

A Schlumpf is an internally geared planetary drive hub made by hand by the genius at Schlumpf Innovations. No it doesn’t free wheel and yes some unicycles have gears.

It has a shifting shaft running through the axle with a shift knob on each end where the crank bolt would normally be. To shift gears you simply click the shift button with your heal or ankle during the pedal stroke.

The gearing is 1-1 or 1-1.5 in second gear which would turn a 26″ unicycle into a virtual 39er.
